Wallpaper - Conoid Grain, Ivory Black

Our Conoid Grain wallpaper translates organic woodgrain anatomy into a graphic, pencil-like linework composition in ivory and charcoal black. Designed by Wallism Studio, the motif captures the undulating rings, flowing cathedrals, and tight grain contours of sliced timber with fine, rhythmic line art set against a clean off-white ground. The balanced contrast between the crisp, darker contours and the pale background gives the pattern an expressive yet understated presence across a wall. Produced as a made-to-measure wallpaper on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers a contemporary interpretation of natural grain texture that is simple to hang.

In the room

We love how the vertical flow of this design creates an impression of gentle height and structure in living rooms, bedrooms, and home offices. Because the pattern uses a continuous, linear grain structure without heavy solid blocks of dark pigment, it works comfortably across all four walls of a compact room or as an articulate feature wall behind a bed or low-slung sofa. In an entryway or hallway, the vertical grain draws the eye upward, giving narrower transitional spaces a refined, graphic character. In spaces with ample daylight, the delicate hand-drawn quality of the linework reveals its finer details, while under softer evening lighting, the motif recedes into an elegant, textured backdrop.

Styling it

We see this wallpaper working especially well alongside mid-century modern, Scandinavian, or minimalist interiors where organic forms meet clean, functional lines. When furnishing the room, consider pairing the linear wall pattern with simple, clean-lined silhouettes so the furniture does not compete with the flowing grain.

To keep the balance natural, smooth matte surfaces or understated black metal accents echo the fine charcoal lines of the print without overwhelming the wall. If you are bringing in natural wood furniture, we suggest choosing either warm, rich tones or dark-stained pieces that create a distinct tonal contrast rather than trying to match the pale graphic tone of the wallpaper too closely.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built on a quiet, high-clarity palette of soft ivory, off-white, and deep charcoal black. When choosing surrounding paint and decor colors, warm neutrals such as linen white, soft stone, and warm grey harmonize naturally with the background. For a richer, more graphic interior, deep charcoal, jet black, or espresso brown on trims, window frames, or cabinetry will anchor the fine linework. The neutral base also pairs beautifully with muted earthy tones, including ochre, burnt umber, olive, or terracotta.
