Wallpaper - Grain Clad, Walnut

Our Grain Clad, Walnut wallpaper brings the deep warmth and visual rhythm of vertical dark timber panelling into the home. What we particularly like about this design is the rich variation across the vertical planks, where organic wood grain, flowing knot details, and deep espresso tones create genuine architectural character across the wall. Printed made-to-measure according to your specific wall dimensions, this PVC-free wallpaper has a subtle physical structure in the paper and is designed to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

In a living room or dining area, we see this design working especially well on a wide, uninterrupted feature wall behind a sofa or dining table. The vertical alignment of the timber planks draws the eye upwards, giving the wall a grounded, tailored presence without feeling visually cluttered.

For a bedroom or a private home office, our dark walnut motif creates a warm, cocooning backdrop behind a bed frame or desk. Because the grain movement and tonal shifts across the planks give the wall its distinct identity, we would avoid covering the surface with tall, solid shelving, allowing the vertical timber pattern to remain visible across the room.

Styling it

When styling around such a rich, grounding wall mural, we like to balance the visual weight of the dark wood with lighter textures and clean-lined furniture.

• Balance the dark timber with upholstery and painted surfaces in warm cream, soft taupe, or oatmeal to keep the overall space airy and inviting.
• Bring in textured textiles like woven wool or soft bouclé on seating and cushions to create a tactile contrast against the linear wood planks.
• Select furniture and lighting with slim black metal frames or muted brass details to enhance the tailored, modern character of the panelling.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper is built around a natural palette of deep chocolate brown, warm walnut, and subtle amber undertones within the wood grain. On surrounding walls and trim, we would combine this design with soft, warm neutrals such as chalky off-white, light greige, or soft stone. If you prefer a moodier, more layered palette, deep forest green, warm ochre, or slate grey on adjacent surfaces and soft furnishings pair naturally with the rich brown timber.
