Wallpaper - Empire Midtown

Photographed by Jan Becke, our Empire Midtown wallpaper captures the architectural energy of New York City at twilight. The composition centres on a glowing avenue cutting straight through the dense city grid, leading the eye toward the illuminated skyscrapers of Midtown with the Empire State Building rising prominently against a crisp evening sky. Cool dusk blues balance the warm amber and red trails of city traffic below, creating a vivid urban depth with remarkable detail. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wall mural, our design brings the iconic scale and atmospheric lighting of Manhattan directly into your space.

In the room

We see this design working exceptionally well in a living room where a wide, uninterrupted wall allows the full cityscape to unfold without visual disruption. Because the photograph carries significant vertical height and fine architectural detail across every building facade, positioning it on a primary feature wall behind a low sofa or along an open living area gives the skyline room to command attention. The combination of open sky above and intricate building layers below provides a natural sense of depth, drawing the gaze inward and adding visual perspective to both compact and larger living areas.

Styling it

To balance the detailed complexity of the skyline, we recommend keeping surrounding furniture clean-lined and contemporary.

• Low-profile furniture with simple silhouettes prevents the lower portion of the cityscape from feeling cluttered or obscured.
• Matte black metal or dark architectural accents echo the window frames, steel structures, and graphic lines within the photography.
• Smooth leather, woven wool, or understated upholstery in neutral charcoal and warm grey help ground the room while letting the illuminated towers remain the primary focal point.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper features a rich palette of cool twilight blue, slate grey, and crisp sky tones, balanced by the glowing amber, honey gold, and red light radiating from illuminated windows and street traffic.

Around the mural wallpapers, we recommend pairing adjacent walls with soft off-white, light cool grey, or deep slate blue. Drawing out the darker charcoal and navy tones on trim or cabinetry creates a sharp, tailored frame, while warm amber lighting and muted rust or ochre decorative accents effortlessly pull out the warm glow of the evening avenue.
