Wallpaper - Summer Cottage IV

Our Summer Cottage IV wallpaper by artist Katrina Pete brings together a botanical still life and classic patternwork with a distinct watercolor look. The design features a rustic watering can arranged with delicate yellow and purple flowers, balanced by sage green foliage and an orange butterfly resting nearby. Set against a soft purple and periwinkle gingham check, the composition pairs illustrative detail with an orderly geometric background. Produced as a made-to-measure, PVC-free wall mural, the paper has a subtle surface structure that complements the hand-painted appearance of the artwork.

In the room

We like this design in rooms where its cottage-inspired character can set a welcoming, personal tone. In a country kitchen, pantry, or laundry room, the combination of gingham check and garden florals adds charm without overwhelming everyday spaces. For a guest bedroom or powder room, the balance of structured check and soft botanical motifs creates an inviting backdrop on a feature wall behind a bed or vanity. We also see this pattern working naturally across the walls of a cozy summer cabin or dining room, where the lighter pastel palette helps keep smaller spaces feeling airy and open.

Styling it

The balance of geometric gingham and illustrative florals gives you plenty of flexibility when decorating. To highlight the traditional, cottage feel of the design, consider these approaches:

• Combine the wallpaper with painted furniture in soft cream, chalky white, or muted pastel tones to keep the overall look light and coordinated.
• Introduce warm natural woods, such as pine or light oak, to echo the rustic character of the watering can motif.
• Keep surrounding fabrics and window treatments simple, choosing solid woven textures that allow the patterned wall mural to remain the focal point.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built around a palette of periwinkle purple, soft sage green, sunny yellow, and warm orange accents. For adjacent walls, woodwork, and cabinetry, gentle off-whites and creamy neutrals blend smoothly with the background check. If you want to draw out the floral elements, muted sage greens or soft lilac tones create a cohesive, layered look across surrounding surfaces and trim.
