Wallpaper - Greetings from Bethlehem - Screenprint Postcard

Featuring the classic mid-century large-letter format, our Greetings from Bethlehem wallpaper captures the nostalgic charm of vintage linen postcards. Originally published by The Tichnor Brothers, the design spells out "Bethlehem" in prominent three-dimensional block lettering, with each individual letter showcasing illustrated local landmarks, historic architecture, bridges, and scenic vignettes. Set against a radiant sunrise motif in warm burnt orange, purple, and sky blue tones, this screenprint-inspired design brings a distinctive graphic energy and historic Americana aesthetic to an accent wall. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this mural is made-to-measure to fit your exact wall dimensions and is printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

Because the composition relies on a bold horizontal wordmark and a central radiating sunburst, we recommend placing this wallpaper on a wide, relatively uninterrupted wall where the full graphic layout can be appreciated. It makes a striking visual focal point in a living room behind a low-profile sofa, in a dedicated home office, or in a welcoming entryway. In a vacation home or guest room, the travel-themed motif adds authentic character and a distinct sense of place. To keep the landmark details within each letter visible, avoid placing tall bookshelves or bulky storage units directly in front of the mural.

Styling it

The mid-century graphic quality of this wallpaper pairs naturally with retro and vintage-inspired interiors. When styling the surrounding space, we suggest keeping furniture lines clean and uncomplicated so the typography remains the primary visual statement.

• Choose warm mid-century wood tones like walnut, teak, or warm oak for credenzas, desks, or coffee tables to echo the vintage warmth in the illustration.
• Select upholstery and textiles in understated solid fabrics or simple weaves, using muted neutrals that allow the bold typography and colorful architectural scenes to stand out.
• Incorporate simple lighting fixtures with matte black, antique bronze, or warm brass finishes to complement the traditional print aesthetic without introducing competing patterns.

Colour combinations

The design features a vibrant retro palette led by rich burnt orange, warm ochre, sky blue, muted violet, and the deep brick reds of the architectural illustrations. When planning the surrounding room, consider using soft warm whites, gentle creams, or pale sandy beige on adjacent walls and trim to create a crisp, balanced border for the artwork. If you want to lean into the wallpaper's warmth, accents in rust, deep terracotta, or dusty navy blue will pull directly from the letter shading and sky tones, creating a cohesive and inviting space.
