Wallpaper - Floral Dream, Purple

Our Floral Dream, Purple wallpaper by artist Andrea Sjöström layers botanical drawings across a deep indigo watercolor backdrop. Illustrated chrysanthemums, poppies, tulips, ferns, and loose buds drift across the surface, some rendered as rich black silhouettes while others stand out in vivid purple and magenta tones. The interplay between sharp ink-style contours and fluid watercolor washes gives the motif a distinctly artistic, atmospheric character. Produced as custom made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design brings rich depth to walls while remaining straightforward to hang.

In the room

Because the botanical motifs and silhouettes are dispersed across a deep, shadowed background, this design brings a comforting sense of enclosure to intimate spaces. In a bedroom, we like placing it on the wall behind the headboard, where the dark eggplant and indigo base sets a grounded, restful backdrop for rest. For a study, library, or home office, the painterly composition creates an inspiring environment that feels rich without overwhelming the room. It also works beautifully along an entryway or dressing room, where the contrast between luminous magenta petals and dark silhouette foliage can be appreciated up close.

Styling it

To balance the expressive botanical artwork, we recommend pairing this design with furniture that has clean, grounded silhouettes. Darker stained wood, such as walnut or smoked oak, aligns naturally with the moody background, while matte black accents echo the dark ink silhouettes within the print. In a living room or bedroom, introducing soft velvet or bouclé upholstery in deep plum, warm taupe, or charcoal provides rich material contrast against the structured paper surface.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built on a palette of deep eggplant purple, indigo blue, dark silhouette black, and pops of vivid magenta and violet. When selecting colors for adjacent walls, trim, or cabinetry, deep slate blues and dark plum tones maintain the moody atmosphere of the mural. If you prefer higher contrast, soft stone, muted warm grey, or antique linen on surrounding surfaces will allow the floral botanicals to stand forward as the focal point of the room.
