Wallpaper - Fresh From The Hive

Our Fresh From The Hive wallpaper, created by Kate Jarvik Birch, features a painted wooden honey dipper dripping with rich golden honey against a moody, dark backdrop. The warm honey orange tones stand out sharply against the deep, muted gray background, giving the still life artwork a focused and intimate presence on the wall. Made to measure to fit your exact wall dimensions, our PVC-free wallpapers are printed on paper with a subtle surface structure that enhances the painterly details of the artwork.

In the room

We see this design working naturally in a dining room, kitchen, or pantry where its culinary subject feels right at home. Because the motif is centered around a single, striking focal point with a dark background, we recommend placing it on an accent wall behind a dining table or along an open kitchen wall where cabinetry does not obscure the dripping honey illustration. In smaller spaces like a powder room or entryway, the rich contrast creates a cozy, enveloping atmosphere across the walls. For larger living rooms or a dedicated home office, giving the design a clear wall area allows the painted brushwork and glowing golden tones to serve as the room's primary visual anchor.

Styling it

To balance the dramatic contrast of the dark backdrop and glowing honey, we suggest keeping surrounding furniture simple and warm. Mid-toned or dark natural wood furniture complements the honey dipper's organic warmth, while matte black or dark bronze hardware echoes the depth of the background. In a dining area or kitchen setting, pairing this wallpaper with textured ceramic tableware, warm task lighting, and quiet, unpatterned fabrics allows the central artwork to command attention without overwhelming the room.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built on a palette of rich honey orange and deep charcoal gray. When choosing paint or accents for adjacent walls and trim, warm off-whites, soft slate grays, or deep charcoal create a seamless continuation of the dark background. If you prefer to highlight the warmer side of the motif, accents in ochre, amber, or warm caramel will draw out the glowing tones of the honey.
