Wallpaper - Jacksonville Florida Skyline Purple & Gold

Created by Michael Tompsett, this cityscape wallpaper captures the Jacksonville, Florida skyline through an expressive watercolor-inspired silhouette. The architectural contours of iconic downtown landmarks and bridges emerge from dynamic paint splatters, speckles, and textural washes across a crisp white background. Rich dark mulberry purple mingles with earthy, warm golden ochre tones, lending the urban motif an artistic, abstract rhythm. Printed to order as made-to-measure, PVC-free mural wallpapers with a subtle physical structure in the paper, this design brings a confident urban focal point to interior walls.

In the room

We see this skyline design working especially well in a living room or a dedicated home office where an architectural accent wall can anchor the room. Because the composition features an airy, open white expanse above a grounded silhouette, it brings visual height without overpowering the upper half of the wall. In a home office, placing the skyline behind a desk creates an inspiring backdrop that balances clean space with graphic detail. Across a main living room wall, we like positioning it behind a low-profile sofa so the bridges and architectural towers remain fully visible and uncluttered.

Styling it

To let the dynamic paint splatters and bold architectural silhouette take center stage, we suggest pairing this design with clean-lined contemporary or mid-century modern furniture. Low-backed seating in warm neutral upholstery keeps the horizon line unobstructed, while a desk in warm wood tones such as teak or walnut echoes the earthy ochre undertones of the skyline. Accents in blackened steel or deep bronze complement the graphic structure of the bridge and buildings, reinforcing the urban character of the wall murals while maintaining a balanced, modern living space.

Colour combinations

The motif centers on a distinctive contrast between deep mulberry purple and warm, earthy gold-ochre against a clean white backdrop. Around the wallpaper, we recommend introducing complementary warm neutrals like soft sand, oat, or muted cream on adjacent walls to echo the lighter washes without competing with the white negative space. For upholstery, cabinetry, or accent textiles, deep plum, aubergine, or warm camel tones draw directly from the skyline's richer pigments, tying the entire palette together naturally.
