Wallpaper - Nara Gaps

Created by Julia Dreams, our Nara Gaps wallpaper brings together classic ikat-inspired geometry and heritage textile character in an intricate, repeating composition. Deep navy blue motifs interlock across a neutral off-white ground, balancing diamond medallions and fine ornamental flourishes with rhythmic vertical stripes. What we particularly like is how the crisp graphic contrast feels refined rather than overwhelming, offering a timeless decorative presence. Like all our wall murals, this design is custom made to your specific wall measurements, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture, and produced for straightforward hanging.

In the room

Because of its tight visual cadence and balanced vertical rhythm, this design works comfortably across both compact and larger residential spaces. In a kitchen or dining area, we see this working well across an accent wall behind open shelving or alongside a breakfast table, where the fine details remain visible up close. It is also an appealing choice for a powder room or bathroom, where wrapping multiple walls in the repeating pattern creates an intimate, jewel-box feel. The structured arrangement means the pattern holds its own on fragmented wall sections between cabinetry, doorways, or mirrors without losing its decorative coherence.

Styling it

The heritage feel and classic indigo-and-cream contrast pair naturally with both traditional and Mediterranean-influenced interiors. To balance the geometric energy of the wallpaper, we suggest keeping larger furnishings grounded in clean silhouettes.

Natural warm woods, such as walnut or oiled oak, bring an earthy warmth that softens the crisp navy tones. For painted surfaces and architectural woodwork, an understated cream or warm bone creates a seamless transition from the wallpaper ground. Polished brass or antiqued bronze hardware provides a subtle metallic accent that underscores the historic textile character of the motif.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper centers on a rich navy blue set against a warm, neutral off-white background. When choosing surrounding colors for adjoining walls, cabinetry, or trim, consider pulling directly from this timeless duo.

• Warm neutrals: Soft ivory, linen, or pale sand on adjacent walls let the navy blue shapes take center stage while maintaining an inviting atmosphere.
• Deep blues: A saturated midnight or classic navy on wainscoting, interior doors, or kitchen cabinets creates a striking, unified monochrome palette.
• Earthy accents: Muted terracotta, ochre, or olive green in surrounding decor introduce a complementary warmth that sits comfortably alongside the cool blue tones.
