Wallpaper - Forest Lanterns, Periwinkle

Our Forest Lanterns, Periwinkle wallpaper brings a gentle winter landscape onto the wall, designed by Paulina Vårregn. Densely layered pine trees rendered with delicate ink-style linework fade into soft periwinkle and powder blue tones, dusted with white snow. Scattered throughout the forest, warm glowing lanterns and tiny golden light specks create a magical contrast against the cool winter backdrop. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because the repeating forest pattern has a relatively dense vertical rhythm and a soft, low-contrast palette, we see this wallpaper working beautifully across full rooms as well as single accent walls. In a bedroom or nursery, the gentle periwinkle tones create an enveloping, quiet backdrop behind a crib or bed frame without overpowering the space. We also love our mural wallpapers in a living room, playroom, or home library, where the intricate detail of the snowy pines remains engaging whether viewed from across the room or up close along a quiet reading corner.

Styling it

To balance the cool, dreamy tones of the forest, we recommend bringing in warm, unpretentious natural textures. Light-toned woods such as birch, ash, or pale pine echo the forest theme while keeping the overall room light and airy. Painted furniture in soft creamy whites or muted greys also pairs seamlessly with the illustrated backdrop.

For textiles, simple weaves in oatmeal, ivory, or heathered wool work nicely to complement the cozy winter mood without introducing competing patterns. You can also introduce small accents in brushed brass, antique gold, or warm ambient lamp lighting to visually pick up the golden glow of the hanging lanterns.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper itself centers around cool powder blue, periwinkle, icy white, and deep slate blue line work, accented by glowing amber and warm yellow-orange lanterns.

When choosing colors for adjoining walls, woodwork, and major furnishings, we suggest exploring:

• Soft off-white and chalky ivory on baseboards and trim to highlight the snow-covered branches.
• Muted dusty blues or pale grey-blues for adjacent walls to create a cohesive, wrap-around atmosphere.
• Warm amber, camel, or muted honey accents in cushions or throws to mirror the lantern light.
• Deep indigo or charcoal for small accent pieces to ground the lighter pastel background.
