Wallpaper - Dropping Ginko

Our Dropping Ginko wallpaper brings an intricate botanical composition to life against a deep charcoal background layered with fine vertical pinstripes. Stylized golden ginkgo leaves cascade downward from the top edge, shifting in scale from prominent, finely veined fans to smaller drifting silhouettes below. The subtle interplay between the warm ochre-gold linework and the shadowy, textured grey backdrop creates an elegant sense of downward movement and atmospheric depth. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to fit your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

We love how the downward flow of the ginkgo leaves naturally guides the eye, making this design especially effective on walls with generous height. In a dining room or living room, it works wonderfully on a primary feature wall behind a low credenza or sofa, allowing the detailed upper cluster of leaves to remain fully visible. Because the pattern density gradually eases toward the lower half of the wall, it grounds the room without feeling overwhelming. We also see this working beautifully in a tranquil bedroom behind a headboard, or in an entryway where the vertical structure and botanical motif create an immediate sense of arrival.

Styling it

The delicate line drawing and rich charcoal base pair effortlessly with Japandi and contemporary interior styles. We suggest anchoring the room with low-profile furniture crafted from warm woods such as oak or walnut to echo the golden tones in the leaves. To maintain balance, keep surrounding upholstery and larger textiles in quiet, matte neutral finishes like unbleached linen or textured wool. Subtle brass or muted bronze accents can pick up the warm metallic look of the ginkgo veins without competing with the wall mural.

Colour combinations

The design itself centers on warm golden ochre linework, muted taupe leaf silhouettes, and a deep charcoal grey background with subtle tonal vertical stripes. When choosing paint colours and materials for adjacent walls and trim, warm off-whites, soft greiges, and muted taupe shades create a gentle, natural transition. For a moodier, enveloping atmosphere, matching surrounding woodwork or trim in deep charcoal or dark slate grey draws out the depth of the wallpaper's background.
