Wallpaper - Mountain River Expedition

Our Mountain River Expedition wallpaper captures a scenic mountain landscape photographed by Neil Gilchrist. A clear river flows through a lush valley bordered by dense evergreen forests and pine trees, with towering snow-dusted peaks rising into a crisp blue sky. In the foreground, two rafts carry paddlers in bright orange life jackets along the moving water, adding a subtle narrative element and a pop of accent color to the expansive wilderness scene. Printed as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, our design brings an open, adventurous outdoor perspective to interior walls.

In the room

Because of the sweeping horizontal perspective and rich landscape detail, we see this wall mural working especially well across a wider, relatively uninterrupted wall. In a living room, positioning the wallpaper behind a low-profile sofa lets the full view of the valley and mountain ridge remain open across the room. It also works naturally on a focal wall in a bedroom or hallway, particularly in a lakeside lodge, summer cabin, or rustic home where nature-inspired themes feel right at home.

The composition benefits from generous natural light, which highlights the gradation of forest greens in the valley and the crisp white snow along the mountain peaks.

Styling it

To complement the rich outdoor scenery without overwhelming the space, we would anchor the room with simple, tactile furnishings. Warm wood finishes like pine, cedar, or rustic oak echo the evergreen setting and bring out the earthy base tones of the scene.

For furniture and soft furnishings, we recommend keeping profiles relatively low so the vista remains the primary visual focal point. Upholstery in neutral linen, muted canvas, or deep charcoal allows the vivid greens and sky blues to stand out. If you want to introduce small decorative accents, choosing pieces in burnt orange or amber will subtly tie back to the life jackets seen along the river.

Colour combinations

The palette within our wallpaper is defined by deep forest green, earthy olive, clear sky blue, and crisp white along the peaks, accented by small touches of bright orange on the rafts.

When choosing paint colors for surrounding walls, trim, or cabinetry, we like pairing this mural with soft off-whites, warm stone, or muted khaki. If you prefer a moodier, more enveloping space, a deep pine green or charcoal paint on adjacent woodwork can frame the landscape beautifully while letting the blue sky in the mural draw the eye outward.
