Wallpaper - Homeward Bound

Created by Krystal Adams, our Homeward Bound wallpaper captures a pastoral countryside scene with the distinct visual texture of an expressive painting. At the heart of the composition sits a rustic red barn and white outbuilding, set against rolling green fields, a white fence line, and a soft blue sky with cloud cover. What we especially like about this mural wallpaper is the painted-looking surface detail, giving the impression of layered brushwork across the expansive landscape. Our wall murals are made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure.

In the room

Because of the horizontal landscape composition and focal point on the right side, we see this wallpaper working particularly well on an uninterrupted wall in a living room, dining room, or bedroom. Placing the design along a feature wall allows the gentle curve of the hill and the open sky to draw the eye across the room. In a dining area or behind a living room sofa, the lower grassy section grounds the wall naturally, while the upper sky keeps the room feeling open.

Styling it

The rustic, folk-art character of the painting makes it a natural fit for country, cottage, or relaxed modern farmhouse interiors. We would balance the expressive painted motif by pairing it with simple furniture in warm wood tones, such as pine or muted oak. Keeping larger seating or cabinetry in understated neutrals or muted off-white lets the rich red barn and green landscape serve as the focal point of the space.

Colour combinations

The palette in our design centers on barn red, meadow greens, and soft sky blue, balanced by off-white and charcoal accents. When choosing paint for adjacent walls or trim, we suggest pulling from the softer tones within the mural, such as an off-white, light linen beige, or a gentle sage green. For a bolder accent in furnishings or textiles, echoing the warm brick-red of the barn brings a cohesive warmth to the overall room scheme.
