Wallpaper - Wild Horses III

Created by Lisa Audit, our Wild Horses III wallpaper brings two dapple-grey horses into a gentle meadow filled with soft pink, terracotta, and muted ochre wildflowers. Painted in a soft watercolor style, the motif pairs misty smoky grey washes in the background with delicate botanical details across the foreground. The gentle contrast and calm, painterly character create a serene visual rhythm across the wall. Made to measure and completely PVC-free, our wallpaper has a subtle physical paper structure that complements the painterly quality of the artwork.

In the room

We love how the horizontal composition of this mural wallpaper anchors a room. The horses stand waist-height in the meadow, making it particularly well suited for a feature wall behind a low bed frame in a bedroom, nursery, or guest room. Because the main figures sit across the lower half to mid-section with a soft, misty wash above, the design gives a calm sense of depth without overwhelming the space. In a study or dressing room, placing this wallpaper along an open, uninterrupted wall allows the full width of the landscape and the delicate wildflowers to be appreciated.

Styling it

To complement the romantic French country feel and gentle watercolor palette, we suggest pairing this design with quiet, natural textures and soft finishes. Light wood furniture, such as natural ash, bleached oak, or painted antique white pieces, lets the subtle grey tones of the horses stand out gracefully. We would keep surrounding upholstery and bedding simple, choosing unbleached cotton, washed linens, or fine wool in warm cream and blush tones. Keeping the nearby furniture low and understated ensures the botanical meadow remains fully visible.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is defined by soft smoky greys, dapple white, warm rose pink, terracotta, and gentle ochre touches set against a misty grey-blue backdrop. On surrounding walls and woodwork, we recommend soft chalky whites, warm alabaster, or muted oatmeal to echo the lightness of the meadow. If you prefer subtle color on adjacent painted surfaces, a desaturated dusty rose or a quiet grey with warm undertones will pick up the tones in the wildflowers and create a cohesive, soothing atmosphere.
