Wallpaper - Sacred Deer

Our Sacred Deer wallpaper, created by Julia Dreams, features gentle ink-drawn fawns scattered across a soft neutral backdrop. Illustrated in various natural poses, standing, grazing, and curled up resting, each deer is rendered with light brown washes, spotted backs, and delicate dark outlines. The spacious repeat creates an airy, tranquil rhythm that brings a calm woodland charm to a room without overwhelming the space. Like all of our wallpapers, it is custom made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, making it straightforward to hang.

In the room

The open composition and gentle earthy palette make this design especially suited to children's spaces, including nurseries, toddler rooms, and playrooms. Because the individual deer are spaced comfortably apart on a light background, the pattern remains soothing across all four walls of a bedroom rather than creating visual clutter. In a nursery or child's room, we also like using it on an accent wall behind a cot or bed, where the restful postures of the animals create a peaceful focal point. The motif works equally well in smaller bedrooms or cabin-inspired spaces where you want to introduce an understated animal theme.

Styling it

We recommend pairing this wallpaper with light, natural finishes that complement its quiet woodland character. Lighter wood furniture, such as birch, ash, or natural pine, connects seamlessly with the warm fawn tones in the illustration. Soft, unbleached cotton or linen textiles in off-white, oatmeal, or muted taupe help keep the overall mood gentle and light. Simple painted furniture in warm neutrals or muted earthy tones keeps the attention on the delicate ink line work of the animals.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on warm light brown, soft biscuit tones, charcoal-brown line details, and a pale cream background. For surrounding walls, trim, or cabinetry, we suggest gentle warm whites, soft oatmeal, or muted beige that blend naturally with the base paper. If you want to introduce subtle contrast, muted moss greens, warm taupes, or soft terracotta accents pick up on the earthy, organic character of the illustration without competing with its delicate details.
