Wallpaper - Sense Of The City, White And Blue

Our Sense Of The City, White And Blue wallpaper brings the expressive energy of abstract contemporary art directly to the wall. The composition captures the rhythmic feeling of an urban skyline through layered, painterly vertical and horizontal brushstrokes, scraping effects, and fine woven canvas-like visual textures. A crisp off-white and cool grey backdrop creates breathing space for sweeping strokes of cobalt blue, teal, warm ochre, and energetic pops of coral and crimson. Made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this design offers a dynamic, gallery-inspired focal point for modern interiors.

In the room

In a living room or dedicated home art studio, we see this wall mural working best on a wide, uninterrupted accent wall where the sweeping horizontal movement and vertical skyline-like forms have room to unfold completely. Because the motif is expressive and full of painterly detail, giving it visual priority on a main wall behind a low sofa or credenza allows the full composition to anchor the space. In rooms with generous daylight, the layered brush marks and subtle shifts between soft white, teal, and cobalt become particularly vivid, while warmer artificial lighting in the evening draws out the rich coral and ochre accents.

Styling it

To let the dynamic nature of our mural wallpapers take center stage, we recommend pairing this design with contemporary, low-profile furniture that features clean, architectural lines. Uncluttered shapes in painted neutral finishes or warm woods help ground the expressive artwork without competing with its visual movement.

For surrounding accents, an eclectic mix of matte ceramics and sculptural lighting creates a considered, gallery-like interior. Keeping larger upholstery relatively quiet in textured neutral fabrics allows the vibrant blues and fiery orange-red brushstrokes in the wallpaper to provide the room's main visual punch.

Colour combinations

The design itself centers around a versatile palette of off-white, cool grey, and deep cobalt blue, enlivened by turquoise, ochre, coral orange, and crimson. When planning surrounding walls and woodwork, soft off-white or light cool grey paint creates a seamless continuation of the mural's background. If you prefer deeper contrast, pulling the rich cobalt or slate blue onto adjacent walls, built-in shelving, or window trims frames the artwork with dramatic intent. Accents in terracotta, rust, or muted coral can also be brought in through small decorative pieces to echo the warm strokes in the foreground.
