Wallpaper - Modern Pittsburgh

Our Modern Pittsburgh wallpaper, designed by Jazzberry Blue, transforms urban cartography into a bold, graphic statement. This abstract map design features intricate street grid patterns and flowing river lines rendered in a screenprint-inspired aesthetic. Saffron orange, vibrant teal, bright yellow, warm beige, and dark gray come together to create a lively visual rhythm across the wall. Printed as made-to-measure mural wallpapers on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, the design brings an artistic, contemporary energy to creative residential spaces.

In the room

Because of its detailed street grids and expressive palette, we see this design working particularly well as an accent feature in a living room, home office, or dedicated study. On a wider, uninterrupted wall, the full scope of the city layout and the curves of the river have space to unfold without being cut off by high furniture. In a study or workspace, placing the wallpaper behind a desk or along a main open wall creates a focal point that stimulates visual interest without overwhelming the rest of the interior. The strong contrast between the dark gray lines and the saturated saffron and teal tones holds up nicely across both bright daylight and softer evening lamplight.

Styling it

To give this graphic wall mural the attention it deserves, we suggest pairing it with clean-lined furniture and thoughtful material choices that balance its bold character.

Mid-century modern or contemporary silhouettes work especially well alongside the geometric grid lines. Low-profile credenzas, floating desks, or slim seating allow the lower sections of the map to remain visible. In terms of finishes, warm wood pieces help ground the saffron and beige tones in the print, while matte black metal accents mirror the dark structural lines of the street layout. Keeping large textiles relatively quiet ensures the room feels cohesive rather than cluttered.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper centers on a dynamic palette of saffron orange, teal, warm yellow, neutral beige, and deep slate gray.

When choosing surrounding wall colors or large furnishings, a warm off-white or light stone beige on adjacent walls lets the saturated tones of the map stand out clearly. If you prefer a moodier, more enveloped atmosphere, bringing in a deep charcoal or dark slate gray on adjacent surfaces creates a striking, gallery-like backdrop. For smaller accents in cushions, art objects, or desk accessories, picking up the teal or saffron from within the pattern provides an effortless sense of connection throughout the space.
