Wallpaper - Old Paris

Our Old Paris wallpaper brings the intricate cartography of an 18th-century etching to life, showcasing the historic city divided by the Seine. The detailed design reveals historical street patterns, bridge connections, and an ornate cartouche with decorative borders, all rendered in a soft palette of neutral gray and pebble tones. Made-to-measure on our PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, this mural wallpaper transforms a feature wall into an engaging visual study of historical urban planning.

In the room

In a dedicated home office, library, or study, we like how the dense cartographic line work creates a focal point behind a desk or reading chair. The design benefits from a wider, relatively uninterrupted wall where the full scope of the city layout and open surrounding fields can be appreciated without being heavily broken up by tall furniture. In a study or library setting, the fine etching detail invites closer viewing, giving the space a calm, scholarly character that works just as effectively across an entire accent wall.

Styling it

To balance the intricate line work of the map, we suggest pairing this design with furniture that has clean, structured silhouettes. Lighter or medium wood tones work naturally alongside the historic etching style, while painted furniture in muted charcoal or off-white keeps the surrounding interior quiet. Keeping decorative wall art and complex textile patterns to a minimum allows the graphic rhythm of the historic streets to remain the primary feature in the room.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built on a neutral base of subtle grays and pebble tones. To complement these shades, we recommend using soft chalky whites, warm off-whites, or muted stone on adjacent walls and trim. For upholstery or cabinetry, deeper charcoal, slate, or faded navy provide a grounded contrast that echoes the precision of the antique print without introducing competing visual noise.
