Wallpaper - Weathered Patina

Our Weathered Patina wallpaper captures the visual character of aged, oxidized metal in a close-up composition rich with earthy depth. Designed by Tono Balaguer, the motif layers warm reddish-brown and rust-orange tones with touches of cool gray, creating an uneven, speckled surface effect. The design brings a confident industrial and wabi-sabi character to a wall, balancing raw visual texture with warm color variation. Like all our wallpapers, it is custom made to your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We see this design working particularly well in a home office, creative workspace, or an art studio where an expressive, textured focal point adds immediate character. Because the rusted metal motif is visually dense and full of tonal contrast, it excels on a primary accent wall, such as behind a desk or along an uninterrupted stretch of wall that allows the full scale of the weathered pattern to unfold. In spaces with good natural daylight, the warm reddish-orange tones stand out against the cooler gray patches, creating a lively play between warm and cool elements throughout the day.

Styling it

To balance the visual weight of the oxidized pattern, we suggest pairing this design with furniture that has clean, architectural lines. A simple matte black metal desk or shelving unit echoes the industrial mood of the surface, while warm wood accents, such as natural oak or stained timber, pick up on the earthy rust shades in the print. Keeping surrounding decorative objects relatively uncluttered allows the wallpaper to serve as the dominant visual texture in the room without overwhelming the space.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built on a palette of deep reddish-brown, vibrant rust orange, and subtle slate gray accents. For adjacent painted walls and woodwork, warm charcoal, soft off-white, or muted clay tones complement the earthy base without competing for attention. If you want to lean into the cooler details of the motif, incorporating deep graphite or weathered gray accents in your furniture or upholstery creates a balanced, grounded contrast.
