Wallpaper - Vermillion Lakes

Our Vermillion Lakes wallpaper brings the expansive stillness of a Canadian winter landscape indoors. Photographed by Jim Wiebe, the composition captures snow-draped mountain peaks rising beneath a clear blue sky, mirrored across the icy surface of the lake below. Dark evergreen forest lines the shoreline, anchoring the broad horizon with grounded contrast. Printed as a made-to-measure design on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, this wall mural offers a balanced, open view that adds quiet visual depth to larger spaces.

In the room

In a living room or vacation home, this photographic design works particularly well on a primary uninterrupted wall where the full panorama can unfold without heavy disruption. Because the horizontal composition divides naturally between the open sky, the mountain peaks, and the reflective water, we like placing it behind a low-profile sofa or along a main lounge wall. Keeping tall storage units off this surface lets the sense of distance and mountain horizon remain entirely visible across the room.

Styling it

We recommend keeping surrounding furniture simple and grounded to let the expansive landscape carry the visual focus. Low-slung seating in woven fabrics, paired with clean-lined coffee tables in natural or weathered wood, sits naturally against the cool outdoor scenery. You can introduce soft off-white or charcoal wool throws to echo the snow and rocky ridge lines without competing with the detailed photographic quality of the mural.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper centers on cool sky blues, crisp snowy whites, and deep spruce greens, alongside the neutral charcoal and slate tones of the exposed rock faces. In the surrounding room, soft off-white or light pale grey on adjacent walls keeps the space bright and lets the blue tones stand out. If you prefer deeper contrast, charcoal painted trim or dark forest green accents on nearby woodwork pick up on the dense tree line along the water.
