Wallpaper - Vintage Swallows

Our Vintage Swallows wallpaper captures birds mid-flight across an airy, light background, creating an open sense of movement across the wall. The swallows feature brown wings, cream-toned bodies, dark heads, and subtle reddish detailing on their faces, accented by soft watercolor-like splashes of blue and orange that add depth to the motif. With its nineteenth-century block-print character, the design brings a quiet, historic feel into contemporary spaces. Like all of our mural wallpapers, this design is made to measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We love how the open spacing of the swallows gives this pattern an easy, uncrowded presence on larger walls. In a bedroom or living room, the repeated flight of the birds creates visual interest without dominating the entire space, making it well suited for an accent wall behind a bed headboard or running across multiple walls in a home office or nursery. Because the light ground keeps the wall visually open, the pattern sits comfortably in both smaller rooms that need a feeling of space and larger living areas where you want natural movement.

Styling it

To echo the heritage character and block-print feel of the design, we suggest pairing it with classic English country elements or quiet vintage pieces. Warm wood furniture, such as antique pine or mellow oak, works particularly well with the earthy brown tones of the swallows. For textiles, simple woven fabrics and soft natural cushions help balance the artistic watercolor accents in the wallpaper without competing with the bird motif.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built around a gentle palette of light brown, cream, and soft terracotta-red notes, balanced by delicate touches of watercolor blue. When decorating around this design, warm off-white or soft cream on adjacent walls and woodwork lets the light backdrop blend naturally into the room. If you want to introduce contrasting accents, muted sky blue or faded ochre drawn from the watercolor splashes will connect the surrounding decor straight back to the wall.
