Wallpaper - Over the Treetops,Smoke

Our Over the Treetops, Smoke wallpaper captures the detailed view of a dense forest canopy seen from below. Drawn in an illustrative, etching-inspired style, the composition layers fine branches and varied leaf silhouettes across a soft pebble gray and smoky monochrome palette. The delicate line work gives the foliage a rich, rhythmic texture while maintaining an open, tranquil atmosphere across the wall. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made to measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Looking up into the canopy gives this design an expansive quality that works especially well in a study, home library, or living room. In a dedicated workspace or reading room, we like placing it behind a desk or open shelving where the fine botanical detail provides visual interest without becoming distracting.

Because the contrast is gentle and the gray tones are quiet, our wallpaper can easily cover all four walls of an intimate room to create an enveloping woodland feel. In a larger living space, giving it a wide, uninterrupted accent wall allows the natural movement of the branches and the full sweep of the treetops to be appreciated from across the room.

Styling it

The classic, etching-like character of this wallpaper connects naturally with traditional, heritage, and contemporary minimalist interiors alike. To balance the intricate line work of the canopy, we suggest pairing it with clean-lined furniture and quieter, solid surfaces.

• Warm wood tones, such as aged oak, walnut, or stained ash, ground the cool smoke-gray tones and enhance the natural forest theme.
• Matte black metal details on desk lamps, picture frames, or architectural hardware pick up the deeper lines of the illustrated branches.
• Tailored upholstery in neutral woven fabrics, such as charcoal wool or soft cream textiles, keeps the surrounding space balanced and comfortable.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is built around neutral smoke grays, soft pebble gray, and quiet off-white highlights with deeper charcoal linework. To create a cohesive look on adjoining walls, woodwork, and ceilings, we recommend working with chalky off-whites, muted stone tones, or pale slate grays that match the background sky.

If you want to introduce more depth or contrast in your furniture and accessories, deep forest greens, rich espresso browns, or dark charcoal bring out the shadows in the canopy while preserving the serene, monochrome feel of the space.
