Wallpaper - Shellfish Social V

Our Shellfish Social V wallpaper pairs an expressive coastal illustration with a bold, retro checkerboard background. Created by Veronique Charron, the composition features an oyster plate illustration in soft cornflower blue, sea blue, and grey tones, accompanied by bright lemon wedge accents, framed against a warm red and cream checkered pattern. We particularly like how the painterly, relaxed lines of the shellfish artwork stand out against the geometric grid of the backdrop. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, and is straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this design working especially well in a dining area, breakfast nook, or kitchen space where its playful culinary theme naturally belongs. Because the red checkered grid creates a lively visual rhythm and the central illustrated plate forms a clear focal point, we recommend placing this wallpaper on a feature wall where the central artwork has room to be appreciated without heavy visual obstruction. In an open-plan kitchen or dining room, it brings immediate personality and warmth, working nicely behind a dining table, banquette seating, or alongside open shelving.

Styling it

When styling around this mural wallpaper, we suggest keeping large furniture relatively grounded so the vibrant red checks remain the focal element. Mid-tone or light wood dining furniture, painted bistro chairs in crisp off-white or soft navy, and simple tableware in ceramic or clear glass complement the relaxed, coastal brasserie feel. Keeping surrounding architectural trim and cabinetry in warm off-white or muted cream helps frame the wall and keeps the room cohesive.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is anchored by rich tomato red and warm cream in the checkered field, balanced by slate blue, cornflower, oyster grey, and citrus yellow in the illustrated plate. For surrounding painted walls and woodwork, we recommend soft creams or warm off-whites that pick up the background grid. If you want to introduce a subtle contrasting accent in surrounding decor or upholstery, muted French blue or dusty navy echoes the oyster shell tones beautifully.
