Wallpaper - Wishful Kitten IV

Created by Yvette St. Amant, our Wishful Kitten IV wallpaper brings a playful, illustrative narrative to the wall. The composition captures a wide-eyed tabby cat sitting attentively at a table laid out for a sushi feast, complete with maki rolls, chopsticks, a soy sauce bottle, and a blue and white patterned vase with pink orchids. Set against a backdrop of soft blue and white vertical stripes, the scene combines painted brushwork with an energetic palette of coral orange, cobalt blue, warm brown, and soft pink. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is custom made to your dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper texture.

In the room

This wall mural has a distinct narrative quality that naturally makes it the visual anchor of a space. In a dining area, kitchen nook, or open-plan living room, we love positioning it on a central feature wall where the full painted scene can be enjoyed without heavy disruption. Because the design combines a strong foreground composition with vertical background stripes, it works particularly well behind a low-profile dining table or sideboard, allowing the upper elements, the cat and floral vase, to remain clearly in view.

Styling it

To let the expressive details and bright tabletop take center stage, we recommend styling the room with clean lines and understated accents.

• Pair with light or medium wood tones, such as ash, birch, or natural oak, which complement the warm browns of the cat and the bamboo details in the scene.
• Bring in simple blue or white ceramics to mirror the classic patterned vase while keeping surrounding surfaces feeling organized.
• Choose furniture with minimal silhouettes, such as slender-legged dining chairs or a low credenza, to avoid visually competing with the illustrated foreground.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper brings together a vibrant mix of coral orange, cobalt blue, earthy brown, soft pink, and muted sky blue. For surrounding walls, soft off-whites, warm greys, or pale sky-blue paint create a calm border that highlights the artwork. If you want a more saturated look, echoing the deeper navy blue or terracotta accents in textiles or accessories ties the room together seamlessly.
