Wallpaper - Hydrangeas in Bloom

Our Hydrangeas in Bloom wallpaper brings soft clusters of blue and white petals together with visible, painterly brushwork that gives the floral motif an impressionistic character. Created in collaboration with artist Silvia Vassileva, the composition balances lush botanical volume with open, pale background space, allowing the nuanced powder blue shades and leafy green undertones to take centre stage. Like all Wallism wallpapers, this design is custom made-to-measure for your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface texture.

In the room

Because the floral forms are painted with broad, soft strokes rather than sharp outlines, our design brings gentle visual depth to a room without feeling rigid or heavy. We see this working particularly well in a bedroom on the wall behind the headboard, where the tranquil blue palette creates a quiet, restful backdrop. In a living room, it works wonderfully as a feature wall behind a main sofa or dining area, where the scale of the hydrangea blooms can be appreciated from across the space. The light background keeps the overall feeling airy, making it equally suitable for smaller, quiet spaces such as a home meditation room or reading corner where you want a calm visual focus.

Styling it

The impressionistic, classic nature of the floral painting pairs naturally with heritage, cottage, or Southern traditional interiors, but it can also soften a more contemporary setting.

We suggest keeping the surrounding furniture relatively grounded in simple forms and natural materials. Painted wooden furniture in soft whites, cream, or light grey complements the light backdrop of the mural wallpaper without competing with the brushwork. For fabrics, unpatterned linens and lightly textured woven textiles in muted neutrals or slate blue allow the painterly flower clusters to remain the primary decorative element in the space.

Colour combinations

The palette within our wallpaper is built around delicate powder blue, soft white, and varied foliage greens set against a pale, luminous background.

When choosing paint colours for adjacent walls, trim, or cabinetry, we recommend pulling directly from these gentle undertones. A chalky off-white or soft alabaster on surrounding walls keeps the atmosphere bright and open. If you prefer a richer contrast, pairing the wallpaper with a muted slate blue or dusty sage green on architectural trim, doors, or built-in shelving will frame the floral mural beautifully.
