Wallpaper - Hallo-Retro XI

Created by Yvette St. Amant, this playful wallpaper design brings together whimsical Halloween motifs and a bold graphic backdrop. Two friendly ghost figures with expressive black eyes and softly shaded sheets rise alongside pale pumpkins against a vibrant pink and white checkered pattern. Warm yellow and golden ochre undertones across the flowing fabric soften the strong geometric grid, giving the illustration a distinctly retro, cartoon-inspired character. Our wallpapers are made-to-measure and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, making it straightforward to add an energetic accent wall to your space.

In the room

With its bold graphic grid and cheerful subject matter, we see this wall mural working particularly well as a focal feature in a playroom, toddler room, or children's bedroom. Because the two main ghost figures and pumpkins sit low and center in the composition, the motif stays clearly readable on an open wall area that is not heavily obscured by tall storage units.

In a teenage room or playful creative space, placing the wallpaper behind a low bed frame, a desk, or a reading bench allows the pink checkerboard pattern to frame the entire area while keeping the friendly illustrated figures fully visible. The strong contrast and popping palette make it especially effective on a single feature wall, letting the surrounding walls remain simpler to balance the room's visual energy.

Styling it

To complement the graphic 1990s-inspired feel of the design, we would lean into clean, contemporary furniture with soft, rounded edges. Smooth painted furniture in crisp white, warm cream, or light pastels harmonizes naturally with the checkered background without competing for attention.

When choosing textiles and accessories, solid colors work best alongside the busy geometric pattern. Simple bedding, plain curtains, and solid rugs in soft pink, buttery yellow, or neutral off-white keep the overall look cohesive and intentional.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built around a vibrant hot pink and white checkerboard grid, balanced by soft white, golden yellow, and black accents in the ghosts and pumpkins.

To create a balanced interior around the wallpaper, we suggest pairing it with:

• Crisp white or soft off-white on adjacent walls and trim to maintain a bright, open feel.
• Pale blush or pastel pink accents that pick up the dominant grid color in a quieter way.
• Warm cream or buttercup yellow details that echo the warm tones in the ghost figures.
• Small touches of matte black in hardware, lighting, or framing to ground the high-energy palette.
