Wallpaper - April Breeze I

Created by James Wiens, our April Breeze I wallpaper brings an impressionistic cherry blossom motif across an aquamarine blue backdrop. Delicate white and soft pink blossoms cluster along slender, painterly branches with golden-ochre accents and gentle specks of colour drifting across the composition. The oil paint aesthetic gives the florals an expressive, hand-painted appearance while maintaining a light, open atmosphere. Like all our mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure according to your wall dimensions and produced on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical paper structure that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working especially well in a bedroom or a dedicated meditation room, where the tranquil aquamarine ground and soft floral details create a serene focal point. In a bedroom, we would place the mural behind the headboard so the branches can reach outward across the wall, framing the bed naturally. The horizontal spread of the branches also suits a living room accent wall, particularly behind a lower sofa where the full canopy of blossoms remains unobstructed and visible.

Because the background carries a cool, clear pastel blue tone, natural daylight reveals the subtle variations in the painted brushstrokes and the delicate speckles of pink and gold. In spaces with softer, warmer ambient lighting, the golden details along the branches take on a slightly richer glow.

Styling it

To complement the impressionistic character of the design, we suggest pairing it with clean-lined contemporary or Asian-zen inspired furnishings. Low-profile furniture with quiet silhouettes keeps the focus on the expansive branch work without cluttering the visual field.

Lighter natural wood finishes harmonise gracefully with the golden-brown branch tones, while matte ceramic accents or woven natural fibres introduce balanced textural contrast. Keeping surrounding decor relatively understated allows the painterly florals to stand out as the primary artwork in the room.

Colour combinations

The design is built on a serene palette of aquamarine blue, soft white, dusty pink, and warm ochre along the branches. For surrounding painted walls and woodwork, we recommend soft off-whites, misty greys, or muted pastel blues drawn directly from the background.

If you want to bring out the warmer brushstrokes within the blossoms and boughs, deeper ochre, warm taupe, or soft blush accents in cushions and ceramics create a cohesive connection with the mural.
