Wallpaper - Great Drama

Designed by Imary, our Great Drama wallpaper presents an intricate cabinet-of-curiosities arrangement inspired by ornate Rococo jewellery, decorative pendants, cameos, chains, and floral medallions. Richly detailed heirlooms, winged figures, enamelled pendants, and gem-encrusted motifs hang across an aged, warm neutral backdrop with subtle woodgrain and textile-like visual character. Shades of caramel brown, antique gold, emerald green, coral red, and soft cream interweave across a rhythmic, tapestry-inspired composition. Our wallpapers are made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions, printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical structure, and designed to be straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working beautifully in spaces dedicated to personal passions, quiet retreat, and decorative character. In a dressing room, the jewel-like hanging pendants and ornamental medallions naturally reflect the room's personal, collection-focused nature. It also feels right at home across the walls of a private home library, a hobby room, or a dedicated art studio where visual intrigue and fine historical detail can be appreciated up close.

Because the repeat is filled with intricate hanging chains and delicate cameos, we recommend placing this design on a wall where it can be seen at eye level without too many tall pieces obstructing the pattern. Across a continuous feature wall behind a reading chaise or flanking custom shelving, the repeat creates an immersive gallery effect that invites closer inspection.

Styling it

To let the detailed vintage ornamental elements take centre stage, we suggest balancing the space with quiet, grounded interior pieces:

• Pair the wallpaper with dark or warm wood furniture, such as antique mahogany, walnut, or caramel-toned timber, which reinforces the heritage aesthetic without competing with the fine line work.
• Incorporate simple upholstery in understated natural fabrics such as heavyweight linen or soft wool in muted cream or oat to contrast the dense, decorative pattern.
• Choose decorative accents in antique brass, bronze, or blackened metal to pick up the metallic tones within the hanging jewellery motifs.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper features a sophisticated palette built on caramel brown, antique gold, deep forest and emerald greens, muted ruby and coral red, and antique white.

When choosing surrounding paint shades for adjoining walls, woodwork, or ceiling trims, we suggest pulling from the softer background tones. A warm antique cream, muted parchment, or soft greige creates a calm and cohesive transition. For a more dramatic, moody atmosphere in a library or dressing room, selecting a deep vintage olive green or a rich chocolate brown for the skirting boards and door frames beautifully frames the design.
