Wallpaper - Coastal Palms, Slate

Our Coastal Palms, Slate wallpaper features a rhythmic, block-print-inspired pattern of palm trees and swaying fronds set against an off-white background filled with swirling dash linework. Created in collaboration with RNM Arts, this design balances graphic slate grey and charcoal-toned foliage with an organic, hand-drawn character that keeps the repeat lively and fluid across the wall. The two-tone palette delivers visual interest without overwhelming a room, making it easy to live with across larger spaces. Like all our wallpapers, this mural wallpaper is made-to-measure, PVC-free, and printed on paper with a subtle physical structure that is straightforward to hang.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working especially well in a bedroom, living room, dining area, or entryway. The flowing direction of the fronds and the textured stippled background create gentle visual movement that adds character to a primary accent wall behind a bed or sofa. Because the slate grey tones contrast cleanly against the cream backdrop without being harsh, the pattern also works comfortably when wrapped around multiple walls in a compact study, dressing room, or hallway. The scale of the palm motifs ensures the graphic details remain clearly legible from across the room, while the fine dashed linework offers subtle texture when viewed up close.

Styling it

To complement the graphic, nature-inspired feel of this design, we suggest balancing the wall with understated furniture and tactile natural finishes:

• Pair the wallpaper with warm timber furniture such as light ash, natural oak, or painted off-white cabinetry to soften the slate grey linework.
• Introduce relaxed woven materials like a flatweave jute rug, linen drapery, or rattan accents to echo the organic, coastal rhythm of the motif.
• Incorporate matte black or brushed nickel hardware and lighting to reflect the deeper charcoal tones within the palms while keeping the overall aesthetic clean and modern.

Colour combinations

The design itself relies on a classic duo of deep slate grey and a soft cream, off-white ground. To build a cohesive palette around it, you can pull in charcoal, soft dove grey, or crisp chalky whites on adjacent trim and doors to mirror the motif. If you want to introduce subtle accent color into the room, muted earthy tones like dusty olive, sandy beige, or faded terracotta work naturally alongside the slate palette without competing with the detailed pattern.
