Wallpaper - Woodland Reverie

Created by Danhui Nai, our Woodland Reverie wallpaper captures an impressionist forest clearing rich in painterly movement and layered colour. Tall, slender tree trunks rise upward through washes of fern green, sky blue, and earthy browns, with broad, energetic brushwork suggesting daylight filtering through a dense woodland canopy. The open ground in the foreground draws the eye naturally inward along a sun-dappled path, giving the scene gentle depth without overwhelming the room. Like all Wallism mural wallpapers, this design is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because the composition uses strong vertical tree lines and an open forest floor, we find this design works exceptionally well on a main living room wall or behind a low bed. The vertical perspective naturally draws the eye upward, which can lend a sense of height to standard rooms. To let the painterly depth of the woodland unfold, we suggest giving the mural a relatively wide, uninterrupted wall where the sweep of the path and the canopy can remain fully visible. In spaces with generous natural light, the subtle shifts between cool blues in the background and warm earthy tones in the foreground become especially distinct.

Styling it

The expressive brushstrokes and heritage impressionist feel of the motif pair naturally with simple, grounded furnishings that do not compete for attention. We would keep large furniture pieces relatively quiet, choosing tailored upholstery in neutral tones and letting the wallpaper carry the visual pattern of the space.

For surrounding materials, darker wood accents like walnut or rich oak echo the deep tones in the tree trunks and ground the room. Soft, unpatterned woven textiles on sofas or beds provide a calm counterpoint to the dynamic brushwork, while understated dark metal details on floor lamps or side tables tie in with the deeper shadows of the forest floor.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on fern green, soft moss, sky blue, and warm forest-floor browns, punctuated by touches of golden sunlight. When choosing colours for surrounding walls, woodwork, and large furnishings, we suggest drawing from these balanced tones.

An off-white or soft warm stone on adjacent walls keeps the space bright and lets the greens take centre stage. For a moodier, more enveloping feel, bringing a deep olive or muted forest green onto surrounding baseboards and trim creates a seamless, tailored transition. Muted taupe, warm umber, and soft ochre also work beautifully in cushions or occasional chairs to pull through the warm lighting effects of the path.
