Wallpaper - Good Side

Our Good Side wallpaper mural, created by Nathan Larson, brings a striking photographic portrait of a white duck into focus against a dark, softly textured backdrop. We love how the gentle curve of the neck and the fine, delicate feather detailing create an intimate yet commanding focal point. The muted monochrome palette, enriched with subtle sepia and olive undertones, gives this wall mural a timeless, artful presence. Printed to your exact dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, it offers a distinctive way to bring character and natural warmth to your interior.

In the room

Because of the bold scale and photographic composition, we see this mural working exceptionally well as a feature wall in a living room, dining room, or a dedicated home study. Placing it along a main, relatively uninterrupted wall allows the sweeping profile of the subject to anchor the space without visual clutter.

In a bedroom, positioning this design behind a headboard creates an intriguing focal point, where the quiet tonal depth sets a calm, grounded atmosphere. The strong contrast between the pale bird and the shadowed backdrop also performs beautifully along a hallway or entryway, offering an immediate sense of personality the moment you step through the door.

Styling it

We recommend letting this wallpaper take visual center stage by keeping the surrounding decor thoughtful and understated. Furniture with clean, contemporary lines or classic mid-century silhouettes works particularly well alongside the graphic clarity of the portrait.

Darker wood finishes, such as walnut or smoked oak, echo the deeper values in the background and help ground the room. If you introduce textiles, choose matte fabrics in slate, charcoal, or soft off-white to complement the monochrome tonal spectrum rather than competing with it. A few well-placed matte black or brushed bronze hardware accents will tie the mood together seamlessly while keeping the overall aesthetic refined.

Colour combinations

The design itself is built around a balance of crisp off-white, soft ivory tones on the plumage, and deep charcoal and olive-grey shadows in the background.

When painting surrounding walls or choosing complementary accents, we suggest leaning into soft neutrals like chalky whites, warm greiges, or muted stone tones. For a more dramatic, immersive room, you can extend the deep charcoal and earthy olive tones found in the backdrop across adjacent walls, cabinetry, or window trims.
