Wallpaper - Retro Kitchen II

Our Retro Kitchen II wallpaper captures the charm of a mid-century still life in soft watercolor tones. Designed by Danhui Nai, the composition features a cobalt blue bowl filled with fresh blackberries alongside a mint green cake stand displaying freshly baked pastries, balanced by a striped mug and a leafy green branch. These elements rest on a colorful plaid tablecloth patterned with crisp blue, yellow, and red lines, set against a warm coral and orange backdrop. Produced as custom made wall murals to your wall dimensions, this PVC-free wallpaper introduces a nostalgic, welcoming character to any interior.

In the room

We love seeing this design in kitchen spaces, dining rooms, or around a dedicated breakfast area where its tabletop motif feels completely at home. Because the artwork functions as a focused still life composition, it works exceptionally well on an accent wall behind a dining table, along a banquette seating nook, or across an open dining room wall where the full scene can be appreciated without tall furniture obscuring the details. In a kitchen, positioning the wallpaper along an adjacent eating space brings warmth and narrative into the room while visually defining the dining corner.

Styling it

The 1950s Americana and vintage-inspired aesthetic of our wallpaper invites classic, comforting interior choices. We recommend pairing it with painted cabinetry in soft butter yellow, pale mint, or off-white to echo the colors in the plaid tablecloth and cake stand.

For dining furniture, simple wooden tables with visible grain or painted shaker-style chairs keep the focus on the illustrated scene without competing with the pattern. Ceramic tableware, vintage glassware, and enamel kitchen accessories around the room help tie the nostalgic still life aesthetic together naturally.

Colour combinations

The palette of our Retro Kitchen II design combines a warm coral-orange background with accents of mint green, rich berry blue, and fine lines of primary yellow and red within the tablecloth.

To complement this palette on adjacent painted surfaces, consider soft warm neutrals like cream, buttermilk, or pale ecru. If you prefer to draw out the secondary tones in the artwork, a muted sage green, soft mint, or a gentle dusty blue on surrounding woodwork and trim will highlight the vibrant accents of the still life while keeping the overall room feeling balanced.
