Wallpaper - Your Orbit

Our Your Orbit wallpaper by Kate Jarvik Birch presents a striking painterly composition, capturing a luminous full moon held gently in an outstretched hand against a deep, textured midnight-blue background. What we particularly like about this mural wallpaper is the expressive brushwork and rich contrast between the glowing celestial sphere and the warm, earthy terracotta and crimson undertones of the hand. The design creates an immediate focal point with its poetic, large-scale imagery. Our wallpapers are made-to-measure to fit your wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

Because of its bold singular focal point and dramatic scale, we see this design working exceptionally well as a feature wall in a bedroom or a quiet study. In a bedroom, placing this wall mural directly behind the bed headboard gives the room an anchored, atmospheric presence while allowing the glowing moon to command the upper wall area. In a living room or reading corner, we would give the design an uninterrupted wall where lower seating leaves the full upward arc of the arm and sphere visible.

The balance of light and shadow in this design responds beautifully to room lighting. Soft evening lamp light brings out the warm amber and reddish highlights painted into the hand, while gentle daylight enhances the cool blue and pale ivory mottling across the lunar surface.

Styling it

To let the artwork maintain its visual impact, we suggest keeping surrounding furniture relatively grounded with clean, simple profiles. Low-profile platform beds, minimalist desks, or low credenzas allow the vertical reach of the composition to unfold without obstruction.

Textiles in washed linen, deep navy, or warm charcoal complement the painterly backdrop without competing for attention. When selecting decorative accents, subtle touches of muted brass or matte black iron echo both the warm highlights and the deep shadow work within the painting.

Colour combinations

The palette of our wallpaper is built on deep twilight blues and charcoal teals, contrasted with pale cream, cool grey-white, and warm brick-red hues. When decorating the surrounding space, adjacent walls painted in muted slate, deep navy, or soft off-white create a seamless, cohesive backdrop. If you prefer to draw out the warmer tones of the motif, accents in burnt terracotta, rust, or warm chestnut leather will naturally mirror the highlights along the fingers and wrist.
