Wallpaper - Butterfly Yellow II

Created by artist Chris Paschke, our Butterfly Yellow II wallpaper features a delicate watercolor butterfly in flight, rendered with soft yellow and light brown wings above abstract botanical forms in gentle beige and green tones. Set against a clean, light backdrop, the fluid brushwork and airy composition give the design a quiet, minimalist character. Printed as a made-to-measure wallpaper on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical surface structure, this design brings an understated, nature-inspired element into your interior without overwhelming the room.

In the room

Because the composition relies on generous white space and light, fluid brushstrokes, we see this working exceptionally well in a bedroom, a quiet study, or an entryway where you want an airy and open visual feel. In a living room or dining area, it makes an elegant feature wall behind low-profile seating or a dining sideboard, allowing the delicate butterfly and abstract botanical details to be fully appreciated. The open layout also suits more compact spaces like hallways or home offices, where a dense pattern might feel too heavy but a minimalist wall mural adds just the right touch of interest.

Styling it

To complement the light and balanced aesthetic of this mural wallpaper, we suggest keeping the surrounding decor clean, organic, and uncluttered.

Low-slung wooden furniture in warm, natural finishes works beautifully to anchor the space while echoing the subtle earthy tones of the motif. Pair the design with soft, unpatterned textiles and simple ceramic or stoneware accessories that maintain a relaxed, contemporary atmosphere. Keeping nearby wall decor minimal allows the open composition of our wallpaper to breathe and act as the room's gentle visual focal point.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is built on a light, neutral background with warm yellow and soft brown in the butterfly's wings, complemented by muted beige and soft green in the lower foliage. To create a cohesive palette, we recommend pairing it with adjacent walls painted in warm off-white, soft parchment, or pale sand tones. For a touch more depth in your furniture or larger accents, consider muted olive greens, warm wheat tones, or rich amber browns that naturally pick up on the painted details in the motif.
