Wallpaper - Urban Incline

Our Urban Incline wallpaper brings an evocative architectural moment into the home, captured by photographer Thomas Winz. The composition follows a person walking up a steep urban sidewalk paved with square concrete tiles, framed by a light brown brick building, cream walls, white-curtained windows, and a small leafy tree casting a sharp shadow in bright daylight. We love how the strong diagonal lines and crisp shadows give the motif a graphic, contemporary rhythm while maintaining a grounded, earthy atmosphere through cream, soft green, and light brown tones. Like all our wall murals, it is made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure, creating an engaging architectural feature wall.

In the room

The distinct upward diagonal of the sidewalk gives this design an inherent sense of movement and depth. We find it works particularly well along a hallway or staircase, where the natural incline of the architecture echoes the circulation of the home. Because the photographic perspective draws the eye inward and upward, it can also create an expansive focal point in a living room or home office when given an open, relatively uninterrupted wall. We suggest positioning it where larger furniture will not cut across the focal path of the sidewalk, allowing the full composition and the sharp interplay of light and shadow to unfold.

Styling it

To balance the strong geometric lines of the concrete tiles and brickwork, we like pairing this mural wallpaper with clean, contemporary furniture that has a low visual profile. Simple, unadorned pieces in lighter woods or painted finishes keep the focus on the architectural perspective without competing with the scene. You can introduce a subtle organic contrast by echoing the fresh green of the tree with living house plants or quiet, unpatterned fabrics nearby, which soften the structural lines of the urban backdrop.

Colour combinations

The palette in our wallpaper centres on warm cream, light brown brick, crisp white window accents, and the soft green of the foliage. When styling surrounding surfaces, we suggest drawing out the pale cream and soft stone tones on adjoining walls and woodwork to let the daylight within the photograph feel expansive and natural. For accent elements, muted olive greens or warm earthy terracottas complement the brick and leaf details, tying the room together in a calm, coherent palette.
