Wallpaper - San Francisco Fog

Our San Francisco Fog wallpaper captures a quiet evening by the bay, photographed by Tono Balaguer. In the foreground, a fishing rod with a small red float rests against a sturdy metal railing, looking out over calm blue water. Across the bay, the silhouetted skyline of San Francisco emerges through soft layers of coastal fog, while the sunset sky transitions through glowing tones of orange, pink, and purple. Like all our wall murals, this photographic design is made-to-measure to your exact wall dimensions and printed on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working especially well on a main feature wall in a living room or a dedicated meditation space. Because the composition relies on open water, gentle horizontal mist, and a distant skyline, it benefits from a wider uninterrupted wall where the full panorama can unfold without being cut off by doorways or tall shelving. In a living room, placing this design behind a low sofa allows the quiet water and distant city silhouette to bring visual depth into the seating area without dominating the entire room. In a vacation home or sitting area, softer evening lamplight enhances the warm sunset gradient across the upper portion of the wall mural.

Styling it

The blend of cool waterfront blues and warm sunset colors allows for a balanced approach to furniture and finishes. We would keep the surrounding decor clean and unfussy, drawing on contemporary or transitional interior styles that let the photographic landscape remain the central focus.

• Pair with low-profile furniture in neutral upholstery, keeping seat backs below the skyline to maintain an open horizon line across the wall.
• Introduce understated warm wood tones or muted dark metal accents that echo the structure of the foreground railing without competing with the soft gradient of the sky.
• Use simple, textured textiles in unpatterned weaves to add tactile comfort to the room while keeping visual clutter to a minimum.

Colour combinations

Our wallpaper centers on tranquil blue water and misty grey-blue tones in the skyline, balanced by soft orange, dusky pink, and muted purple throughout the sky, with a small touch of red on the float. On surrounding walls and trim, we recommend subtle off-whites, pale sky blues, or soft neutral greys that harmonize with the cool bay water. If you want to highlight the warmer horizon, deeper terracotta accents, muted blush textiles, or warm taupe finishes on adjacent surfaces will gently draw out the sunset glow.
