Wallpaper - Gilded Flight Neutral

Our Gilded Flight Neutral wallpaper mural, created by Shirley Novak, captures a flock of stylized birds soaring across an expressive, textured backdrop. Rendered in clean white and subtle light green tones, the abstract avian forms rise diagonally against a layered ground of muted teal, soft bluish-green, and swirling brown brushwork. The print draws on woodcut-inspired printmaking qualities, balancing fluid motion with an earthy, organic visual character. Like all our wall murals, this design is made-to-measure to fit your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle surface structure.

In the room

We see this wallpaper working particularly well in a quiet study, bedroom, or dedicated meditation space where the flowing composition can set an artistic, tranquil tone. Because the birds travel diagonally across the mural, giving the pattern an open wall area allows the full sweep of movement to unfold without interruption. In a study or home office, placing the mural on the wall facing your desk creates an inspiring, uncluttered view. For a bedroom or meditation corner, running it along the main accent wall behind a low bed frame or seating area anchors the space with a calm, atmospheric focal point.

Styling it

The organic modern character of the print pairs naturally with simple, unadorned furniture that lets the movement in the mural lead the room. We suggest styling around the design with natural, tactile materials:

• Choose low-profile furniture in light or warm wood tones, such as pale ash, natural oak, or warm teak, to echo the earthy brown swirls in the artwork.
• Introduce unpatterned, relaxed fabrics like washed linen or woven wool in off-white, oatmeal, or soft grey for bedding, cushions, and curtains.
• Keep wall decor on adjacent walls minimal, perhaps adding a simple ceramic vase or a matte stoneware lamp base to complement the printmaking feel.

Colour combinations

The palette within our design centres around earthy teal and bluish-green tones, tempered by dark brown swirls and highlighted with crisp white and pale green accents. To create a cohesive room scheme, we recommend pairing the mural with surrounding walls painted in warm off-white, soft pebble grey, or a muted, pale sage. For trims, skirting, or cabinetry, a deeper slate grey or a subtle earthy brown drawn from the pattern can add refined structure without clashing with the artwork.
