Wallpaper - Farm Study II

Created by Krystal Adams, Farm Study II captures the understated character of a rural landscape through delicate pencil and graphite sketchwork. The composition presents a classic farm settlement set quietly against a dense forest backdrop, balanced by open sky and soft tonal shading. Charcoal gray and neutral gray pencil marks define the architecture and tree lines, creating a hand-drawn look with subtle depth across the surface. Our custom made wall murals are produced to your specific wall dimensions on PVC-free paper with a subtle physical paper structure, making it straightforward to introduce authentic illustrative art to your interior.

In the room

We see this rural landscape working especially well on an accent wall in a bedroom or a quiet home office, where the delicate pencil detail can be enjoyed from close range. Because the drawing balances detailed forest foliage with open, lighter sky areas, it sits comfortably across a wider living room wall behind a sofa without overwhelming the space. In an entryway, hallway, or along a staircase, the horizontal landscape format adds visual depth to transitional areas. In a rustic cabin or dining room, placing the design on a wall with minimal tall furniture allows the full pastoral panorama to unfold naturally.

Styling it

The nineteenth-century sketch aesthetic pairs naturally with traditional, rustic, and farmhouse interiors. We would lean into the handcrafted feel of the pencil work by surrounding the wallpaper with warm wood tones, such as antique pine, natural oak, or aged timber furniture. Keeping surrounding textiles simple, such as unbleached cotton or linen upholstery, lets the detailed line work remain the focal point. To balance the charcoal tones in the sketch, incorporating matte black metal lighting or vintage iron hardware creates a cohesive, grounded look.

Colour combinations

The wallpaper is grounded in a restrained palette of charcoal gray, soft mid-gray, and gentle off-white paper tones. For adjacent painted walls and woodwork, warm off-whites, muted stone, and soft taupe complement the neutral paper base without creating harsh contrast. To draw out the rustic countryside theme, we also like pairing this design with deep forest green, muted olive, or rich charcoal accents on cabinetry, doors, or window trims.
