Wallpaper - Diagonal Flax

Our Diagonal Flax wallpaper by Limolida Studio brings a classic plaid pattern into a relaxed, contemporary scale. Designed on a 45-degree angle, the bold diagonal grid pairs denim blue with soft neutral off-white, overlaid with fine crosshatch lines that lend the surface a gentle woven-looking character. What we particularly like is how the diagonal orientation softens the strict geometry of a traditional check, giving walls a tailored yet easygoing rhythm. Like all of our wallpapers, it is custom made-to-measure on PVC-free paper with a subtle paper structure, making it straightforward to hang.

In the room

The balanced proportions and crisp diagonal lines make this design an appealing choice for a study, home office, or hobby room where you want structure without visual clutter. Because the diamond-oriented repeat moves the eye across the space, we find it works comfortably on a single accent wall behind a desk or workspace, as well as wrapped continuously around a compact room or playroom. The orderly geometry provides a grounded architectural feel on walls broken by doors or shelving, keeping the overall atmosphere calm, neat, and inviting.

Styling it

To complement the heritage-inspired check, we would lean into classic, comfortable furnishings with clean silhouettes. Warm timber furniture, such as medium oak, walnut, or antique pine, contrasts handsomely with the cool denim blue. For painted woodwork and built-in cabinetry, crisp whites or matching muted slate blues create a cohesive framework. Keep surrounding accessories tailored and understated, opting for simple ceramics, matte dark hardware, and smooth, solid upholstery that lets the wallpaper remain the primary pattern in the space.

Colour combinations

The pattern relies on two core tones: a dusty denim blue and a warm, unbleached off-white neutral. When choosing paint for neighbouring walls, ceilings, or trims, soft warm whites and gentle creams will echo the lighter squares naturally. If you prefer deeper contrast, navy or charcoal grey offers an elegant, grounded pairing, while soft beige and muted stone shades highlight the classic, relaxed character of the blue.
